We use traditional Zanzibari Dhows for our boats. These boats have been used in these waters for hundreds of years and have proved to be the best to cope with the conditions. They are all hand made on the island by “fundis” engineers who have grown up learning from their fathers who in turn learnt from their fathers the trade. Made of Mahogany with a keel normally made of Teak these boats are able to go into rough seas with no worries.
For corking between the wood the Fundis use a mixture of Cotton wool, and Coconut oil in the same way they always have.
We have 3 of these Dhows Jimukka, Mukka and Kimukka. They are all designed to cope with divers and make diving not just an amazing experience underwater but a great one above too.
We do also have 1 RIB which is used to dive the further away sites, she is a 7.2m RIB with 2 90Hp engines on the back.
