Rising Sun Dive Centre is the only National Geographic dive centre in Zanzibar and as such can teach the amazing courses designed by PADI and National Geographic together to focus on conservation and exploration.

National Geographic Open Water Course

This is the ultimate Open water course for beginners, taking 5 days with 8 dives in the sea this course will take you from a beginner to a environmentally conscious and capable diver. The first day starts in the pool with the basic skills of the famous PADI Open Water Course, we also add in a buoyancy workshop with you to perfect your skills. The second and third days are in the Lagoon with beautiful crystal clear waters that are teeming with fish and corals. During this time we will also complete the theory for the PADI Open Water and start on the theory side for the National Geographic course.

The forth and fifth day are outside the main reef on some of the deeper and more adventurous dives. During these four dives we will focus on, buoyancy, digital photography, fish identification and complete a reef mapping project. Then once all the theory is completed you are not just an Open Water diver but a National Geographic Open Water Diver, and one of the diving elite.

National Geographic Specialty Course

This is for divers who are already qualified and want to take their skills to another level. We complete four dives where we will focus on, buoyancy, digital photography, fish identification and complete a reef mapping project. The theory is done in the afternoons where we will review the dives we have done and develop your knowledge of that area. This is a great course to do and will assist any level of diver in developing their skills.
